AutoCAD Drafter

We’re seeking an experienced and detail-driven AutoCAD Drafter to support the design and fabrication of custom trade show exhibits, branded environments, retail displays, and experiential spaces. The ideal candidate has a solid understanding of materials, construction methods, and a strong ability to translate creative concepts into precise, buildable technical drawings. This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about bringing physical environments to life through drafting excellence. This is an on-site position in Akron, OH.

Key Responsibilities:

• Produce 2D technical drawings and fabrication-ready shop drawings in AutoCAD for exhibits, interiors, and custom displays.
• Convert conceptual and 3D designs into detailed construction documentation, including elevations, sections, and floorplans.
• Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, designers, and fabrication teams to ensure design intent and structural integrity.
• Revise drawings based on team and client feedback while adhering to timelines and project standards.
• Maintain organized CAD files, drawing templates, layer standards, and file naming conventions.
• Communicate clearly with vendors and internal stakeholders to resolve technical questions.
• Assist in value engineering efforts to optimize fabrication without compromising design.

Skills & Qualifications:

• 2–5+ years of experience as a Drafter in the trade show, architectural millwork, custom fabrication, or related industry.
• Proficient in AutoCAD; familiarity with other drafting/modeling software (e.g., SketchUp, Revit, SolidWorks) is a plus.
• Strong understanding of materials (wood, metal, acrylics, laminates) and joinery techniques.
• Ability to interpret and create detailed technical drawings, including fabrication and installation packages.
• Experience working in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments.
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
• Strong organizational habits and attention to detail.
• Knowledge of graphic production or signage layout is a plus.
