Business Development Executive – Trade Shows/Events

The Business Development Executive is responsible for generating new business opportunities and opening doors with prospective clients in the trade show and experiential marketing space. This is a pure hunter role focused on identifying, targeting, and securing new accounts. Once opportunities are closed, the client relationship is transitioned to the internal account team for ongoing service and execution. This role is ideal for a results-driven, relationship-building professional who thrives on creating pipeline, winning business, and driving growth. This is remote position, but looking for people based in/around Cincinnati, OH.


Responsibilities:

  • Proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities in target markets and verticals

  • Develop and execute outreach strategies via cold calling, email, LinkedIn, networking, and in-person events

  • Build relationships with key decision-makers and influencers within prospect organizations

  • Qualify leads, manage pipeline, and drive opportunities through the sales cycle to close

  • Create compelling presentations and proposals that align with client goals

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure a smooth handoff post-sale

  • Attend industry trade shows, events, and client meetings as needed to build brand presence


Requirements:

  • 3–7+ years of business development or sales experience, ideally in trade shows, live events, custom fabrication, or experiential marketing

  • Proven track record of sourcing and closing new business

  • Highly self-motivated with strong prospecting and cold outreach skills

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation abilities

  • Strategic thinker with a strong sense of urgency and accountability

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently

  • Willingness to travel for business development and networking purposes


Compensation:

  • Base Salary: Competitive base salary, (based on experience)
