Account Executive – Exhibits + Events

We’re looking for a consultative, driven Account Executive with proven experience in the trade show and event space who knows how to build relationships, uncover opportunities, and close business in a longer-cycle, solution-based sales environment. This role focuses on both new business development and account growth, where strategic thinking, consistent prospecting, and industry knowledge are key to success.

The ideal candidate is comfortable managing a full sales cycle, proactively building pipeline, and developing long-term client partnerships that extend well beyond a single project.

What You’ll Be Doing:

Sales & Revenue Growth

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities through outbound prospecting, referrals, partnerships, and inbound leads
  • Lead consultative sales conversations to uncover client needs and position tailored solutions
  • Own the full sales cycle from discovery through proposal, negotiation, and close (typical cycle ~40+ days)
  • Consistently meet or exceed quarterly and annual revenue goals

Account & Relationship Management

  • Manage and grow a portfolio of key client accounts year over year
  • Maintain regular client engagement through meetings, lunches, dinners, and site visits
  • Attend trade shows and industry events to strengthen relationships and generate new opportunities
  • Set clear expectations and maintain alignment between clients and internal teams

Pipeline Management

  • Own and manage your sales pipeline with discipline and consistency
  • Maintain accurate activity and deal tracking in CRM (Pipedrive)
  • Forecast accurately and manage longer, complex sales cycles
  • Identify opportunities for account expansion based on future event needs and recurring business

Prospecting & Outreach

  • Stay active on LinkedIn through posting, engagement, and targeted outreach
  • Strategically plan travel to maximize in-person meetings with clients and prospects
  • Re-engage dormant leads and leverage referral opportunities
  • Partner with marketing to align outreach with ongoing campaigns

Referrals & Partnerships

  • Actively request referrals during client reviews and post-event follow-ups
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with agency partners and industry referrals
  • Consistently nurture partner relationships to generate ongoing opportunities

What We’re Looking For:

  • 2–5+ years of B2B sales experience in a consultative, solution-based environment
  • Must have experience in the trade show and events industry
  • Proven ability to manage a full sales cycle and build long-term client trust
  • Self-starter who is comfortable prospecting and managing their own pipeline
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to lead meetings, calls, and presentations
  • Highly organized, motivated, and competitive mindset
