Q: What sets MetroSeek apart in the recruiting industry?
A: We are real people who truly care about the people we work with. No offshore call centers or bulk messages, just personalized, expert service. It also helps that we are the only recruiting firm that is both a member and sponsor of associations like Connex. I helped create and implement Connex’s ConnextGen program, served as Co-Chair of the Young Professional Committee, and was nominated for Young Professional of the Year in 2023. These unique accolades make us the only recruiting firm in the world with this level of industry recognition and specialization.

Q: What types of roles do you specialize in?
A: It is not so much about role as it is the industry. I recruit specifically for the Facilities Maintenance and Construction Services Industries with a heavy concentration in Signage. The only roles I don’t touch, for the most part, are laborer/technician positions.

Q: How do you find the right candidates?
A: I make a lot of phone calls and trust my gut. If you’d like to jump on a call, I am happy to tell you more about my process but I’m not giving away my secret sauce. 😉

Q: What’s the biggest hiring challenge companies face today?
A: I am seeing a lot of companies struggling to get those great candidates across the finish line. Why? Candidates have more options than ever before when it comes to looking for new opportunities. If companies aren’t moving fast enough, aren’t keeping the candidates in the process engaged, aren’t communicating, they will lose every single time. Candidates want to feel wanted.

Q: What do you love most about what you do?
A: I love connecting amazing people and seeing them succeed together. There’s nothing more exciting than getting a call from a candidate I placed, hearing they’ve been promoted and are now looking to build their own team.

Q&A with Elisha – Beyond Recruiting

Q: When you’re not helping companies find talent, how do you spend your time?
A: With my husband and our families, we’ve been married for a year and together for 13. We have seven nieces and nephews who keep us very busy. We love long car rides and will happily travel long distances for good food, especially pizza. Live music is our passion: summers are for the Stone Pony, winters are for Starland Ballroom. We also love traveling to see our favorite bands or attend cool festivals, with bonus points if there’s pizza along the way.

Q: What’s something people might be surprised to learn about you?
A: I’m a t-shirt collector. Every time I go to a show, I pick up one (or three) more, adding to my nearly 200-strong collection. And yes, I do wear them on a rotation. Most are from ska-punk bands, but some are from interesting places like the Brazen Head in Dublin or the Hoover Dam. I even had custom t-shirts made for my wedding last year so everyone could start their own collection. 😜 If you’d like to send your company shirt to join in the fun, I’ll let you know where to send it!

Q: What’s one accomplishment outside of work that you’re particularly proud of?
A: My husband and I are avid road trippers. We have driven to/through 36 states and typically don’t make reservations at hotels, we just wing it. We also road tripped around Ireland – also without reservations.

Q: What’s your go-to way to unwind?
A: Go to the gym or go for a run.

Q: Do you have a personal motto or philosophy you live by?
A: Just keep swimming.  

Q: Any guilty pleasures?
A: Aside from what I’ve already mentioned?  When I am not at a show, in the car, or buying t-shirts, I love watching terrible TV and eating junk food.

Q: What’s one piece of career advice you always share?
A: Attitude is EVERTYTHING.
